Israel push On And Take Cairo In '73.

and what good is propaganda? the Arabs would (and do) hate the Israelis based on OTLs propaganda, I see no reason stronger propaganda would change much, also what makes you think there's be no Yasser Arafat? he was active Pre-1973

I said there'd be no Yasser Arafat in Egypt, because the Islamists will hate him for being too secular just as they did IOTL. However the difference with the Sinai and the West Bank/Gaza is that the only representatives there were the PLO, who the West has every reason to hate. Israel claiming it's always and forever the victim, perpetually weak and surrounded by vastly superior in manpower and overall menace enemies starts looking much less creditable when it's directly holding the Sinai and settling it even more than it was IOTL. The USA may well start in the long term wondering "Well, if they can do this, why do they need any help from us?" while the rest of the international community will notice all the hypocrisy much more obviously than IOTL (where at the very least the withdrawal from the Sinai and the peace treaty were massive PR dividends for Israel).

Without peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan, Israeli politics and regional politics aren't remotely going to resemble OTL.

It's one of those things that while militarily possible would have just been politically foolish. They were already coming under massive pressure politically from the Soviets had they gone to all the way to Cairo it would have just been pushing it too far.

I think in the end they got as much out of their position as they could. Maybe they could have got more out of the encircled Egyptian 3rd army but even there they were facing pressure from both the US and Russia.

There options were pretty limited politically by this point.
