So let's say that the US wins the competition for Nasser's affections and Egypt is an American ally from the 1950s onward. As a result, the US sees the other Arab nationalist movements in a more positive light and enjoys closer relations with Syria and Iraq than OTL. As a result, Israel and the Soviet Union enjoy a closer relationship, with the Soviets being the main supplier of arms to Israel by the early '60s and with the two countries signing a treaty of friendship at some point in the mid '60s, making the pair allies.
Let's further assume that the close relationship between the US and Egypt means Britain and France don't dare try OTL's stunt over Suez, meaning that the pre-Suez Anglo-French close military cooperation continues and the close French relationship with Israel continues.
So Israel is close to the Soviets and to the Western Europeans, but not to the Americans.
What effect does this have on how Soviet and American Jews see their respective countries, and how their respective countries see their Jewish populations?
I am guessing at the least, Soviet Jews are less persecuted.
