So it seems everyone wanted a member of their house to marry Queen Isabel II of Spain. From the Coburgs to the house of Orléans to her own house of Bourbon-Spain, everyone wanted the consort's crown of Spain to sit on their son's head. However, finally the eldest son of the Duke of Cadix (Francisco d'Asis) carried off the prize. On the other hand, Isabel loathed the marriage saying: "how is it possible to love a man who wore more lace than I on our wedding night?"

Who do you think would make the best king-consort for Spain?
