Is this true? Question about English Sweat

I was doing some research (albeit very very limited in scope) and it seems we don’t know what English Sweat, the disease that killed Arthur, was. Is this true, and if so, do we have some possibilities?

Apparently, this is similar to the French suette, which was most likely carried by rats or lices. I couldn't find more

there are several theories about it one is the hantavirus, another is relapsing fever and one of strangest proposed by a micro biologist is it could be anthrax though none are anywhere near conclusive.

I’d be interested in knowing why anthrax is a possibility
the microbiologist Edward McSweegan noted that the described symptoms of the sickness line up with respiratory and and too a lesser degree gastrointestinal forms of anthrax, which could appear on raw wool which could be breathed in or infected animal carcasses. and looking at the symptoms of respiratory anthrax i can understand why he thought that. though the theory is just that and does have much else too it. if Wikipedia is right he has also suggested exhuming victims for testing. i originally heard the theory from my history professor.i can see why especially how it started off in the country and moved to the city which could follow wool while in a raw state also the speed of the disease is interesting because anthrax is know for being quite fast if not treated. the thing is maybe it is a symptom of anthrax i do not know but it seems that the victims seem to show incredible fatigue. my bet would be hantavirus
like i said before the anthrax one is strange as hell and caught me by surprise

Doesnt the country-->city progression also suggest it wasnt rodent borne, since city dwellers historically tended to have more contact with rodents?

yes indeed but which disease are you referring too because if it was the anthrax possibility it would be coming from poisoning on raw wool or meat. though if relapsing fever it makes does not make a lot of sense for the fact that is caused by ticks and fleas. to be fair i do not know a lot about disease and that this, the black death and blue death are really the only diseases i have ever researched in history to a lesser degree
