Is this ASB: South East Asia - A larger Sulu

Greeting,

I'm currently on the process of writing a Timeline concerning a larger Sulu that would eventually become the Empire of Malaya. I present you a rough-draft of the map-circa.1840.

The Gun trade in Sulu had been going on for a decade now. It had been a long horrendous process, but eventually the new business venture is blooming and gun running is on a all time high. During this time period, the Sultan of Sulu is planing to expand his business in Arms trade, specifically producing rifles and muskets.

The Sultan had been generous and open minded enough to hire foreign contractors that would help him establish the right infrastructure to produce guns in large quantities. It had been a hit and miss process, but he eventually got the hand of it.

While the majority of Sulu's army still uses bow and swords, the Sultan's royal guardsmen are trained as rifle-wielding infantry.

*Somewhere during the 1712 the Sultanate of Brunei, either by royal marriage or conquest or both, cedes its territory to the Sultanate of Sulu.

The question is how long before another country declares war at them and dismantles Sulu.

I think a late 15th century POD rather than a 18th century POD for Sulu to become better than the Sultanate of Brunei, one of the things that made the Sultanate of Sulu weak is Sulu's loss of Palawan to the Sultanate of Brunei which is ruled by Bolkiah at that time, I think having Bolkiah defeated in his own wars against his own neighboring countries or defeated in the rebellions in Borneo will be a good POD.

Actually, near the end of the 15th century or early 16th century Bolkiah married Laila Mekanai, a daughter of a Sultan of Sulu, preventing her marriage with Bolkiah will likely make Palawan stay in the control of Sulu.

well here is a snippet

[circa.1457] Sulu was establish by Sharif ul-Hashim
[circa.1511] Malacca is conquered by Portugal. Enrique of Malacca is captured in the siege of Malaya. Somehow he befriended a Portuguese explorer named Magellan.
[circa.1521] Magellan is defeated in Mactan. The Datu of Mactan along with his elite Maginoo warriors slaughtered the sailors brought by Magellan. Although Magellan’s crew were fine warriors they had yet recovered their strength from malnutrition caused by crossing the pacific.

*The datu of Mactan spares Magellan's life and orders his warrior to collect the weapons of the fallen outlanders. While waiting for his white outlander to heal, he goes Cebu to investigate about who sent the Spaniards to him. It was by sheer luck that he managed to prevent the remaining crew of Magellan from being poisoned by the Cebuanos. After burning Cebu to the ground, he returns home with a few more Outlander in tow, including Enrique.

A few weeks after the Battle of Mactan, Magellan and his men was taken to the Sultan of Sulu.
