Is Theodore Roosevelt winning in 1912 ASB?

I have an outline of a novel where Helen Taft dies of a stroke in 1909. A depressed Taft, who never wanted the White House, gladly steps aside for TR in 1912. As the GOP nominee, he'd win fairly easily (Wilson got a little over 40% of the vote in 1912).

There is a thought. Perhaps not the most likely turn of events, but it'd be fascinating to explore.

Incredibly fascinating- and something I have never seen explored. Most TR elected in 1912 scenarios have the United States getting involved in the Great War early. But TR has enormous prestige following the Treaty of Portsmouth. He might try and have the United States become an international broker of peace, so to speak.
