Think I may have asked this before- but I'm not certain. Anyway, ignore if so.

Polls for the majority of Gordon Brown's premiership seemed to point towards a seemingly inevitable easy victory for David Cameron's Conservatives- I myself always thought that the Tories would win a comfortable, though not overwhelming, majority of between 30 and 80. As it turned out, though, this didn't happen, and we've ended up where we are now.

I remember reading, a few days before the 2010 election, a blog post on, I think, politicalbetting.com, which gently reminded us that only once since 1945 (in 1970) has an opposition party been able to unseat a Government with a working majority and itself gain a working majority. And, despite minor progress in 2005, Cameron's Tories still had a mountain to climb in terms of seats to even gain a tiny majority in the House of Commons. My question is this- is it possible, at all, for this mountain to be climbed in one go? And if so, how would it be done?
