Irridentist Slavic-Italian union vs A-H pre-WWI

Is there any way that irridentists in say Italy & Serbia could've joined forces in a war of conquest against the Hapsburg Empire before 1914 ?

Given that part of the land each wanted to redeem overlapped, this might be hard too arrange.

Italy was allied with AH since 1882 until 1915. They were both very conservative, catholic countries. Which mattered quite a bit back then.

It could work if Italy 'sponsored' the irredentists. Italy would definately be stronger and get Istria, but their designs over Dalamatia would get somewhat in the way. Still, if the slavs became 'protectorates' of Italy, they would definately agree and scoop up as much help as possible.

italy broke that alliance in 1914, then they joined the entente in 1915.
That alliance can't have meant much for italy.

The most important would be germany, this thing could only happened if Germany agreed to it (Which probably would mean they got something out of it) or was busy (WWI, anyone?)
