Iranian Revolution gone worse

Due to some people thinking my thread is ASB I feel I should explain some of the logic

Carter visiting Iran- he goes there to ask the Shah to grant more freedoms to his people and to tell the people of Iran not to resort to violence because that will only cause them more pain and suffering

Which doesn't explain why a sitting POTUS is running around the middle of a suddenly hostile country. Which has happened... never? This task can easily be handled with Carter safe and sound in the District of Columbia. There is NO reason why he needs to be in Iran.

helicopter shot down- if you want maybe the RPG shooter had several with him in case he misses. So maybe he misses the first shot ,but the sescond one hits its mark and the helicopter begins to stall, he then shoots a 3rd and fatal RPG that dooms the helicopter to crash.

That actually makes things worse, IMO. I'll buy, under certain circumstances, RPGs bringing down a chopper. But as soon as that first shot is fired, the pilot is going to run for his life for any safe harbour, and the shooter isn't getting a second shot. If he does, pilot is evading, probably a few decoys, other helicopters trying to interpose themselves... Not a very easy target.

Again, though, I can't think of any point during the revolution where it was common for people to take pot shots at passing regime helicopters.

Carter being unguarded- in the helicopter there would be several guards but due to the crash they would be killed, now its assumed that if the u.s prez is traveling in a foreign country in a helicopter he would have ground support. There would most likely be several cars filled with secret service agents. Due to the chaos on the streets it is possoble that several cars may get lost, some may be attacked by angry mobs/khomeni militia and have to divert course

No. Presidents of the United States are not this unguarded in their own country, and precautions would be even high in any potentially dangerous situation. The Secret Service isn't going to let him go anywhere where protection or retrieval is tough. Neither are the Iranians vis a vis the Shah, except they have a large military and a willingness to use it on hand. It also seems a bit much that both Carter and the Shah survive, but none of the guards seated next to them do. It could happen, but it feels contrived.

Khomeni returning to Iran- at that time he was in France forming a new revolutionary government. but it is assumed that if the Shah & President Carter are captured he would hurry back home a few days early so he can take credit for the capture and his regime could recieve a publicity boost in the eyes of the Iranian people

He only returned when he felt that the moment was right. Maybe it would be, but on the other hand does he really want to step in to this? It took him a while to prepare in any case; he cannot just magically appear in Mehrabad airport.

Executions- i am not sure wether Khomeni would execute the u.s president(he might not be that insane) I do know that he wanted the shah extradited back to iran for trial where he presumably would have been shot. i just figured if both were executed it would make a real international incident. Reason for executions-crimes against islam- im not sure what type of crimes those would be but i just liked the way it sounded. جنایت علیه اسلام=crimes against islam in persian

Khomeini was many things, but insane was certainly not one of them. Although at this point, if things happen how you say (which, frankly, they won't), everybody might have lost control.
