Ira Allen made it to America?

Hey Guys,

In 1795 an American by the name of Ira Allen went over to France in order to gain support for his planned filibustering attempt into Canada in order to create an independent nation by the name of United Columbia. He managed to buy 20,000 weapons and 24 cannons, however on the trip back to America from France he was captured by the British. He was acquitted after 8 years.

The main point of this thread is What If I. Allen had in fact made it back to America? There are so many possibilities here I'd like you to discuss the possibilities of a filibustering victory, failure and so forth.

There were multiple filibuster attempts over the years. Most particularly the Fenians.

The fact hardly anyone has ever heard of them gives you some idea how successful they were.

This'd be another of the same.

Ho, hum, yet another US invasion....:)
