Interesting Timeline Idea?

I have a TL idea. It is set in today's world, but it is very different. There is no explanation of the PoD, but it is just stories from that world.

It will be entirely in articles and newspapers.

Check out the Articles from Alternate Universes thread to see what I am talking about

I do this 'unreferenced POD' thing all the time. Save it's with random stories set to a soundtrack, but I say go for it.:D

Andalus crosses the Pyrenees, attacks the French

Reports indicate that the forces of the Democratic Republic of Al-Andalus crossed the Pyrenees yesterday with several Army Groups. This comes after heightened tensions between the two nations. Reports are scanty and contradicting, but the general consensus is that the city of Narbonne is under siege and the forces of Dictator Col. Qaddafi are nearing the city of Toulouse.

An official report released from Andalus states that "Several of our divisions did cross into France, after a border skirmish. The hostile behavior of the racist French can not be tolerated." The military mastermind, dubbed the Napoleon of the 21st Century, Gen. Qaddafi is reportedly in Zaragosa, sending orders to Army commanders.

Several air raids against Marseilles and Paris were carried out, resulting in limited loss of life, but a heavy psychological impact. The French are attempting to respond by moving several divisions from the north to combat the invaders. The response of the Kingdom of Aenglaland is not yet known, but pundits agree that they will take a stance supportive of Andalus. Aenglaland and the French have had several naval skirmishes, and the Aengle city of Calais has been surrounded by French forces.

The threat of war between three major nuclear-armed powers has the rest of the world scrambling to mediate. Kanata, Rus and the Americans have all requested a peaceful end to the conflict, while the Arab Union is reportedly calling for "destruction of the French". The stance of the Germanic Republic, or of the Papal States is yet unknown, but the general consensus is that they will support the French.

French Counter-Attack, Narbonne Captured

A massive French counter-attack was launched into the south, freeing Tolouse from the grips of the Andalusian forces. At around the same time, Andalusian forces captured Narbonne, after a heavy air and artillery bombardment. Gen. Qaddafi has stated that Narbonne has been re-named Al-Arbon, and will be incorporated into Al-Andalus, but resitance remains heavy, as groups have taken to the sewers.

Andalusian missles, and nuclear arms were transported into Saragosa, while French nuclear subs were spotted off of Nafar and Al-Leon. Heightened tensions in the region have the entire world looking on. Kanata has called for a peaceful solution, even if it means embargos. The official stance of the Kingdom of Aenglaland is unknown, though forces have been mobilized, and heightened naval activities have been noted.

A large blow to the French occured when a joint-Andalusian-Arabian fleet destroyed the Mediterranean Fleet of the French off of Marseille. The French responded with a declaration of war, and the Arab Union has started sending more supplies and weapons to Al-Andalus.

Gen. Qaddafi has stated that the world will see the might of Al-Andalus

I am working on a timeline right now that is Scrapbook in style. The first few lines are the lyrics to Bob Dylan's The Times Are A-Changing'. I found this as a fantastic mood setter.

The song was preformed publicly a day after my POD. Fantastic coincidence.

Transcripts and the like can also be interesting. I would like to incorporate part of a movie script.
