Information / Resources on post-Roman Britian

So I'm thinking of starting a timeline based in post-roman Britain. I have a few ideas for PoDs but I'd like to do more research before I commit to something (and have it end up being completely implausible).

I realize that there is little information surrounding this period (Dark ages and all that), but if you know of any good resources please let know. I mainly need some info on how society was structured, what the military was like etc.

Well, you probably want to give some clues about these PODs if you want us give you usable sources :)

but if you know of any good resources please let know. I mainly need some info on how society was structured, what the military was like etc.
- On the Ruin and Conquest of Britain, Gildas
- Ecclesiastical History of the English People, Bede
- The History of the Britons, Nennius
- The Anglo-Saxon chronicle
(Careful with these ones, they are the most old accounts but are still made centuries after supposed events. Still, primary sources.)

- Dark Ages Economics, Hodges (Not only based on Britain, but useful for a larger point-of-view)
- Christianity in Roman Britain to AD 500, Thomas (Interesting for the "roman" lefts in Britain, but not that useful if your POD didn't involve clergy intervention)
- The Ango-Saxons from the Migration Period to the Eighth Century, Hines (Didn't read it, but apparently good)
- Britain and the End of the Roman Empire, Dark (Again, for a larger point of view)
- Roman Britain and Early England 55BC-AD871, Blair (Seems interesting, but I've only extracts)
- Debating Late Antiquity in Britain AD 300-700, Oxford Archeological Review (If you can find it, please send me it :p. A french review of it is praising it, but I can't find it outside big universities threre)

I found this that seems to be interesting.

I would just to point something.

Even if "Dark Ages" use restrained for Britain had some legitimity (at the contrary of an use for the whole period in Europe) in the sense it was "dark" for historian (very few written sources), it's not longer this much.
Indeed, History of Late Antiquity in Britain (and History generally) use other sources than written ones : archeological, climatic, etc. that are present and studied.

These are a couple of good websites:

From Dot to Domesday

historyfiles.co.uk - Island of Britain AD450

They've both got some general information on Anglo-Saxon, Briton and Pictish history that I've used before.

In addition I can add a couple of suggestions on good books about the Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms:

- Anglo-Saxon England by Frank Stenton (this one's a little dated)
- Earliest English Kings by D P Kirby
- Kings and Kingdoms of Early Anglo-Saxon England by Barbara York
