do a google search. you'll find out a great deal more that way.

what you need to know:

after the Persian Wars, Sparta and Athens competed for hegemony of Greece. It was a long and bloody process in which eventually Sparta won, but at a huge cost, and soon Sparta was in turn defeated by Thebes.

Peloponnesian War:431-404 BC-(certain historians believe that it actually started 460 BC.)

Three parts:1)Archidamian War 431-421 BC
2) Peace of Nikias 421-415 BC
3) Sicilian Disaster/Deceleian War 415-404 BC
Sources:Thucidides "Peloponnesian War" (Penguin)

Text books:Bury & Meiggs:"Ancient History of Greece to 323 BC
Russel Meiggs :"The Athenian Empire"

You are not going to learn anything important from Internet if you are to start a Thread.you need a lot more detailed information which will necessitate the
reading of more material, and for that you might need to resort to a Library.
if you need further information please ask me.
