Info Request: House of Lords

Does anyone know of an online resource that can show me the composition of the House of Lords at different points in history?

That is a very difficult question to answer, and i am assuming you are meaning hereditary peers.

Now the key changes are the Life Peers act in 1958, the House of Lords Reform bill in 1999 and the two Parliament acts in 1911 and 1949.
Your best bet is http://www.parliament.uk/lords/ i think that and wiki.

the problem is prior to 1958 Hereditary peers are very flexible as they can change their alliances over time, there are some who considered the vast bulk of Hereditary peers as Tory and while that may be the case they do not have to toe the party line and can be as flexible as they want.

There is also generational changes so for example when Atlee was made a Lord he was Labour, His Son switched to the SDP (Liberals) in 1982 and his Grandson became a cross bencher in 1992 when he took the title and joined the Conservatives in 1996 he is still in the House of Lords to this day.

Oh yes I understand the flexibility of the Hereditary Lords, I was wondering if there were records of allegiances but I guess it was relatively organized. Thanks anyway.
