Info on Timoji and/or Malik Ayaz?

Yo,
I've been looking for any info on the pirate Timoji who helped the Portuguese conquer Goa as well as on Malik Ayaz, governor of Diu.
Timoji is important enough to be mentioned everywhere but limited info.
For Ayaz, it's unfortunate as there was another guy with the same name and function but three centuries earlier...
Any idea?

You may have put in the name wrong. I looked up a derivative which resulted in: Malik Ayyaz or Meliqueaz. There is mention of him in a few sources on the applicable Wiki (I know...) page. IIRC, Timoji is also mentioned in one of the sources listed on that Wiki page as well.

Malik Ayaz, it's still the same problem: both guys have the same name...

For Timoji, I did see also as Timmayya, like Meliqueaz the name gets lost in translitteration, which really doesn't help with research.

With Timmayya, I did find one source (Goa-Karnataka kingdoms) but I'd rather have a bit more to go with :)

Timoji is mentioned in the first reference as well. I can see if there are any other resources at the university I'm attending.

@Behemoth Thanks for this!
I haven't read the Barbosa one, I heard of it and I'll try.

For the others, I already read those bits: it says what he did during this time period and in relation to the Portuguese but doesn't tell us more about who he actually was, biography and all :/

I found one short biography of Timmayya in Goa-Kanaza Portuguese relations, 1498-1763 , if I find anything else I'll post it here
