Info on Natives in Guatemala

I am doing a TL about Mesoamerica and I need some info on the Indian tribes in Guatemala around the time of the Spanish Conquest. I have already checked Wikipedia just to get that out of the way.

Quite a few groups. The Aztecs had some presence in the region; as did the closely related Nawat (Pipil) people (though they were more focused in El Salvador). Numerous Mayan groups, including the K'iche', Itza, and Mam, for example. Some unrelated populations, like the Xinka. Even today, the country's got a population that's roughly 40% indigenous, much more if you count the mestizo majority.

I noticed and commented. Glad to see this region getting attention, though I caution that I think you still need to read up a bit more on OTL history of the area, at least for the immediate time period before and after the conquest

Fair enough, though I would recommend going back to Wikipedia. It may not be the best site, but it certainly does have quite a bit of information, and once you know a few names and dates, it becomes a lot easier to find what you're looking for. The main pages on the subject aren't always the only ones, and quite a few sit around without many links to and from related pages, especially for pages on Pre-Columbian history.
