India-pendence: The World Changes

Shouldn't the end goal of this or other outsourcing be that the homeland is completely supported by the colonies and nobody in the homeland has to work anymore?
Or at least as close as possible.

The problem is if it's financially viable to put everybody in Britain on the dole.

This isn't realistically doable. Ideologically and practically speaking.

I think this is an interesting timeline. What I'd like to know is what prompted the decision industrialise India in the first place.

I think this is an interesting timeline. What I'd like to know is what prompted the decision industrialise India in the first place.

Basically, the British leadership decided to use India's manpower as a resource for industry, and spur industrialization there. That way, more finished goods could be sold when the British Isles themselves couldn't really find room for more factories. Essentially, outsourcing to a colony.

But APPARENTLY, that's just not possible. :p:rolleyes:

Ok, I think I'll restart this timeline in another thread. but I won't base it on the same "industrialization" premise, I'll have it based upon natural resources in colonies. That should be more realistic and logical.
