(Inspired by the thread in the FH forum concerning United Nations Security Council reform, and by reading the Wikipedia page concerning such)

In 1953, Jawaharlal Nehru, Prime Minister of India, rejected a US offer for a Permanent seat on the Security Council. WI he accepted and India was granted such a position, along with veto power (and later on the legal right to own Nuclear weapons). This changes a lot of things, inc. furute resolutions by the council, the nature of the Indo-Pakistani conflict, and India's role in Asian politics.
