Independence day invasion occurs in Tosev timeline

what if the aliens from the movie Independence day arrived at the same time in the tosev timeline? will this improve things or actually make it harder for them to be destroyed?

Is the race still iusing 1990's Military tech?

The Race was using essentially 1990's military technology against 1942 Earth Military tech. If you have the Lizards arrive in the late 1990's then there military tech is just more of the same and their ships are vulnerable too, since one or more were destroyed by an ICBM attack while in orbit. The Race would not be much help under the circumstances.

If on the other hand the Lizards are using Mid-twenty-first century technology then - after we could have an entertaining debate about what that actually means - we could pit that tech against the ID4 aliens.

There is no way the Lizards are going to allow the other aliens to exterminate the human race, strip mine the planet and move on as is their pattern. The Race want the planet in a fully functional state for the Colonisation Fleet.

Do they try to do this alone and then conquer Earth? Well what else can they do, they have orders to follow and a colonisation fleet already on the way?

What reason would the Lizards have to work with the Tosovites? Do they need the computer virus to win? If so that would give the humans something to bargain with. Bargaining assumes the Race is willing to do that and can find someone to bargain with while the planet is being hammered and their own force is fighting for survival.

Maybe. The answer to a lot of questions about this scenario is "Well, it depends..."

Well, Race has better space tech so they have an earlier warning of what is coming. Being carefula planners & such they may be even aware that other aliens exist for centuries. Then again, if they do they would see them as big threat and focus on them prior to invading earth, Earth being primitive & all while aliens are technologically advanced andbent on conquest.

Anyway, Race would try to intercept them in space.Theymay even sacrifice some ships to take out mother ship.

ID4 alien technology is far in advance of the 1990's Race or 1940's Big Uglies. They have force fields, and they also don't care about preserving anybody to be part of an empire. Humans don't have computers and the Race doesn't have a Jeff Goldblum. Also the arrival of hitherto unknown aliens far in advance of the Race would affect their world-view much more than the Tosevites. ID4 aliens would simply destroy both the Race and Tosevites. When the colonization fleet arrives 30 years leter, it finds a dead, radioactive world stripped of biosphere and all resources.

Don´t the US had FTL spaceships about 1990 ITTL?

Because I suppose the STL mothership get´s destroyed even before entering the solar system ... if they dare to come near. I doubt there is a Roswell incident even ...

If the ID4 aliens invaded the Worldwar TL in 1996-2000, they'd be intercepted before they got close to Earth.

Whether they can be stopped away from Earth is an open question--their forcefields could stand up to masses of AAMs and even (one) tactical nuke in the movie, but the kind of ordinance the spacefaring powers would be throwing around at this point would dwarf this.

There's also the matter of the fighters the city-destroyers carry. If they can manuever in space the way they can in the atmosphere, the Human/Race opposition is going to be in trouble even if they can penetrate the force-fields.

(The ID4 aliens seem to have reactionless drives for their fighters--I didn't see any kind of engines.)
