Incredibly Harsh Treaty of Frankfurt

So we know that in our timeline the Treaty of Frankfurt was harsh and unfair. But instead of the usual PoD's of a fairer one what would have happened if the Germans had forced to large demilitarised zone, took French colonies, took massie reparations and limited the French army to the bare minimum.

Seriously?

I'm not saying it would be a good thing I'm merely asking what would be the effects.

Maybe not, but any discussion based on your OP has an very high probability to generate a flamewar, given the participants in this forum. I think you'll see what I fear as soon as some com to this thread.

If you're interested, I'll give you my opinions by PM, but not in the open forum, to try to avoid that outcome.

I doubt this would happen unless some n00b comes out completely in favour of it.

And I would appreciate your opinion.

France becomes even more hell-bent on wiping Germany from the map, maybe big Military expenditure. Then if you keep Bismarck in Chancellorship out of German fear of French re-armament and have France even more defeated by a pro-German alliance (organised by bismarck) and then whats left of France re-built as a german client state.

No. This is ASB, fun to think up tho ;)
