Let's say WWI ends by 1916. In the east, Germany's gains are limited to Courland, Poland, Lithuania, West Belarus, and West Volhynia. Essentially, the USSR's pre-WW2 borders + Livonia, Estonia, and Finland.

Considering how there was open revolution in the country following the Russo-Japanese War, why wouldn't there be a comparable revolt following the loss of TTL's Great War?
