In a shorter WWI, would Russia still revolt?

Let's say WWI ends by 1916. In the east, Germany's gains are limited to Courland, Poland, Lithuania, West Belarus, and West Volhynia. Essentially, the USSR's pre-WW2 borders + Livonia, Estonia, and Finland.

Considering how there was open revolution in the country following the Russo-Japanese War, why wouldn't there be a comparable revolt following the loss of TTL's Great War?

Probably some revolution is still going to happen but differently being ratherly like revolution of 1905 than revolutions in 1917. Returning soldiers and civilians are still going demand reforms, new land and and stronger duma. And minorities begin claim their rights. And it would be generally frustrating that Russia has lost two wars only in 11 years under same tsar. Survival of monarchy would be still very unsure.

I agree, if the war with Japan resulted in a revolution then WW1 will result in one too. The first Duma was the most democratic and representative, but by 1916 Dumas were handpicked Tsar cronies, at the very least the Duma will have to be representative.

Oftentimes, people argue that radical reforms and mass civil unrest was already on the cards well before 1917, or even the beginning of the war; that contrary to popular ideas, WW1 created a "rally around the flag(and monarch)" effect, and out all these on hold. I'm not sure I agree with that, and I don't know whether it has any connection to the facts, but I think that some kind of revolution is probably going to happen. After all, this is still Nicholas II we're talking about, the man'sbound to screw something up. When he does, you might not get the Bolshies, but, as IOTL, if the Duma or a Provisional Government or other members of the Royal Family fail to fill the gap, well, you're probably looking at the far left. Could be the SRs, could be the Bolsheviks, could be anyone. Alternatively, the whole of Russia explodes into a multi sided civil war, and at that point it's anyone's guess.
