Imperial German Expansion

I have already started a thread about a Cold War between an Imperial Japan and Imperial Germany, which is the pre-text for a novel I am currently in the midst of planning (currently creating the world and the history for it :L).

So anyway my POD is that Germany wins WW1 so it creates buffer states between itself and the soviet union and of course takes a small amount of Russian territory. As well it will also gain colonies the biggest in my opinion would be the Congo, the rest of Papua New Guinea, and French Guyana.

Obviously the Austro-Hungarian Empire does not collapse directly following WW1 so what happens when it does in the 1930s prior to the Second Great War that begins in 1941. I so far have planned for an independent Austria which comes under Hitler and then joins the Fascist Bloc (Italy and France at the time later Spain joins) a Kingdom of Hungary which will become a close ally of Germany as well as being under the Hapsburgs under Otto I.

Now what I am asking from everyone is will OTL Czechoslovakia become independent, be part of Austria, Hungary and Germany or be completely absorbed by Germany what does everyone think ???

:D

If Germany had won WW1 Hitler would probably not have come to power. He was able to feed on the humilation Germany felt losing that war, much like the Ku Klux Klan was formed after the Civil War.

Germany taking Russian territory is very unlikely; since OTL, there were no serious plans to annex Russian lands, and they'd only add more troublesome minorities. There were plans floating around to set up a Baltic-German dominated United Baltic Duchy in Latvia and Estonia, which might be in personal union with Germany, but that's very different from annexation.

Colonies strike me as unlikely except in the event of an overwhelming German victory. This is because it's quite possible that existing German colonies would be the price for keeping Belgium a German puppet, and the annexation of Luxembourg, or just getting Britain and the Royal Navy out of the war. Without these, the value of potential French colonies or the Belgian Congo is significantly lessened.

Also, French Guyana was never on the table, it was territories such as French Cameroon which Germany sought.

As Lycan said, without Germany's defeat, it's unlikely that Hitler becomes anything more than nobody. He also already had moved to Germany (Bavaria) by this period, and was unlikely to return to Austria.

When A-H falls apart, I'd expect Germany to probably try to gobble up Bohemia, or at least the Sudetenland. Slovakia goes to Hungary or goes independent.

Thanks for the help :D

So as well as the German Empire in 1914 following a win in WW1 but with the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the decline of A.H. and with a marginal victory what would happen to the empire gains etc :p
