FDR was not as popular in Congress as he might've been with the public, or as he may seem now. He was trying to aid Britain. He authorized a "shoot on sight" order that's arguably ultra vires...

So, suppose a hostile Congress (or group of hostile Congresscritters, which amounts to the same thing:rolleyes:) decides he's gone too far & impeaches him. Could he have been convicted? Would he have been forced out? (AIUI, this follows a conviction.)

That makes Henry Wallace PotUS. Does Wallace manage to keep the U.S. out of the war? Does he manage to keep Japan from attacking Pearl Harbor, by firing a few key senior people at State (the ones who cranked up the oil embargo farther than FDR intended OTL)?

Is this even remotely credible?
