Impact of a Catholic Rus(sia)

In a scenario where Vladimir the Great of Kiev adopted Catholicism (or as this is pre-1054, Latin Rite Chalcedonianism would be more accurate) instead of Orthodox Christianity/Greek Rite Chalcedonianism, what would the impact of such a conversion? What would the culture of a Catholic Russia look like? What would be major differences between said Catholic Kievan Rus and OTL's Kievan Rus?

Lower literacy than OTL. Tour guides in Novgorod claim over 50% literacy in the XIIIth century.
The Cyrillic script was designed for Slavic languages and had (almost) no need for diacritics. All sounds are represented by the letters themselves.
The East Slavic languages would be slightly different - where Polish has a Latin loanword Russian often has a Greek (or a translation).
Maybe Rus would be less autocratic? Less influence of Basileos Autocrator - but that too is a late development ... and possibly influenced by Chinese/Mongol/Turkic viles.

This would suppose a greater role of Galicia and Novgorod. Perhaps Novgorod stays a merchant Republic... meaning some sort of quasi democratic tradition, resulting in no Bolshevik takeover.
