A Russian supermarket in Amman. The city, mostly abandoned after the First Arabian War, was repopulated by the liberated Soviet Jews.
It is a city with a mainly Jewish-Russian culture where Russian seems to be more visible than Hebrew.

Former Army Chaplain Fred Mcfeely Rogers. Like Robert Keeshan, Rogers served in the Chinese War, albiet mostly behind the lines attached to a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. He was famous for never once getting visibly angry, despite often having to administer last rites to dying soldiers. After the war, Rogers would work alongside Audie Murphy to raise awareness for Post-traumatic stress disorder. In 1968 he’d be approached by National Educational Television to star in a new show they were creating. The show, called Mister Rogers Neighborhood, would run from 1968 to 2001, making it one of the longest running shows on television.

Mikhail Kalashnikov (1919 - 2019) with his most famous invention AK-47 assault rifle.

After WW2 he worked as designer nad mor engineer on Soviet military factory in Izovsk, Udmurtian ASSR. His company was ordered to make weapons to United Arab Republic on early 1950's. Later Kalashnikov said that he hated whole thing because he didn't trust to Aflaq and saw him only just opportunist dictator who even didn't care socialism and would use his weapons to attack and massacring people, not defending his nation.

When Soviet regime begun crumble in 1971, Kalashnikov, who usually was silent with politics, openly sided with Malenkov. During post-Soviet years Kalashnikov supported Malenkov's politics. He anyway continued on military production but new Russian regime pretty much decreased military industry and made decision that not sell weapons to foreign countries. Kalashnikov Armed Company anyway continued sell weapons to Russiand Defence Forces.

Ernesto "Che" Gueavara (1928 - 2007)

Guevara became already early stage familiar with Marxism. At his youth years he travelled around Latin America ending finally to Cuba, where he met Fidel Castro. Guevara was anyway supported by Soviet Union. Altough Guevara and Castro had some ideological disagreements, they cooperated against Batista's fascist regime. Soon after Castro had ousted Batista with American support, Guevara begun guerilla war on mountains. He became infamous on his operations against Cuban Jews, rich landowners and all who supported Castro's pro-American regime. Guevara too wrote several antisemitic pamflets and he too felt deep distrusty towards blacks.

Cuban army managed capture him in 1962. He was sentenced to life prisonment and he died in 2007 in prison. Guevara didn't ever lost his faith to communism and this caused much of worries among officials. They decided keep Guevara isolated so he couldn't spread the ideology among his inmates and prison visits too were too limited. After Guevara's death he was cremated and ash scattered to Gulf of Mexico.

António Agostinho Neto , an Angolan writer, poet, historian and intellectual, and one of the most famous Lusophone-African writers. In 1952, he joined the Portuguese Movement for Democratic Youth Unity and was arrested by the PIDE shortly thereafter and spent a year in prison. He then moved to Portugal, after which he began to write poems and historical books, as well as books and essays in support of Angolan independence. He did not return to Angola until the independence of the Commonwealth of Angola, also unofficially known as Free Angola, in 1976, after which he moved to Cuíto, capital of Free Angola. He then wrote more books, calling for the complete independence of Free Angola from Portugal, respecting the wishes of those in Portuguese Angola to remain within Portugal if they wished. He died of cancer on New Year's Eve of 1985.

Researcher investigating KGB archives on 1970's.

After Soviet Union collapsed in 1972 several countries, including post-Soviet new nations sent researchers to investigate archives of KGB and several ministries. It laster several years to read every document but it helped researchers become familiar wiht actions of Soviet Union. Archives helped greatly on several post-Soviet trials in Trier and many other places. Historians toomanaged get new information about Soviet history and politics.

500px-Lee_Harvey_Oswald_1963.jpg

Lee Harvey Oswald soon after he was arrested from atttemtping to assassinate president candidate VP Richard Nixon in 1964.

Oswald became communist already at his youth. He expressed strong communist sympathy on army and he was soon kicked out. His sympathism towards the ideology too stopped his attempt go to university. In 1960 he visited in Soviet Union where he got some training on shooting and deeper education on communism. Due his travel to USSR USA barred him from entering to United States. Oswald shortly fought with Guevara in Cuba. After Guevara was defeated, Oswald managed sneak back to United States.

Oswald had always strong ties with undergrund communist movements. At some point he begun plan attack someone notable American politician. Situation came at 17 August 1964 when Richard Nixonwas campaigning in Austin, Texas. Oswald tried shoot him with rifle but missed and bullet just mildly wounded Nixon. Local police and FBI captured him few days later. Oswald was sentenced for life to prison. He is still sitting in prison. Oswald had tried plea parole without any success.

Fidel Castro (1926 - 2016)

Fidel Castro has been with his younger brother Raúl leaders of anti-Batista movement. They both were on beginning intrested about communism but soon abandoned the ideology after nuking of Warsaw and revealation of Soviet Holocaust. They anyway continued fighting against Batista's fascist regime and begun get fund from United States. Their movement anyway splitted when Guevara continued his pro-communist path. Castro had anyway on return of American support re-create economic ties with United States. Him had too allyw ith Mafia. These were things what Castro said hated most but him hadn't options.

Rebels managed capture Havana in 1958 and Batista fled the country. Fidel Castro was elected as president of Cuba. His presidency saw establishing of democracy, economic boost, defeat of Gueavara's communist guerillas, reforms on education system and better health care sysstem. Castro's presidency ended in 1972 when he faced serious scandal which enforced him to resign. Castro lived rest of his life obscurity altough he was still widely respected in Cuba and abroad. After Castro's presidency presidential terms were limited to two four years terms.

Raúl Castro (b. 1931)

Castro participated to rebel against Batista's regime. After Fidel Catro was elected as president of Cuba, younger Castro continued fighting against Gueavara's communists. Catro managed to capture him in 1962. After this Castro acted several years on Cuban Congress. Raúl Castro served as president of Cuba in years 1992 - 2000. During his presidency abortion and divorcing was made easier which notably damaged relationships with Catholic Church. Castro too passed several other social reforsm. Cannabis was too legalised. Castro remained quiet popular through his presidency.

Still thinking a bit about Footprint-verse TNO and even considering making a map with the leaders of it. Only thing is that I feel it would be too similar with only a few swapped politicians (i.e Malenkov with the Divine Mandate) or removed ones (probably at least one less USSR revivalist).

Too similar? Atlantropa is likely not a thing, for starters, since the way it has been described there's no indication Germany attacked Spain to make it (nor there's any reason for Italy to agree, given that from the mod makers of the FoM timeline's perspective Mussolini isn't considered having a few screws loose), so that's one big map change done away.

Then there's the fact that Italy probably got French West Africa, meaning no Free France outside of the Kerguelens/the Pacific. The Middle East would be changed to so that the Arabs going free is a "nightmare option" second only to Burgundry, given that the perception of the Arab world, in the FoM-verse, is absolutely horrid even decades later and that would influence how the modders would do things. Vietnam would be utterly different because neither Diem nor Ho Chi Minh would be well-known enough to be thought as an option (okay, maybe Ho Chi Mihn would, but obviously his path wouldn't be good).

I'd say it's changed up enough, especially considering there'd be a whole bunch of butterflies to take in consideration for South America.

This is wholly my fault because I forgot to specify but I actually meant for the Russian anarchy, which is specifically my favorite part of the entire mod.

Besides that, I certainly know that the rest of the world would be drastically changed in a Footprint verse TNO.

So for a Footprintverse TNO(Which could have POD as Germany not attacking Italy, which remains neutral, and the Fascist blocs diverging post war), I think it would be genuinely grimdark, especially from a leftist POV. Now there have been some irate and sectarian people on the left that claims that TNO is grimdark but I feel that it's neatly contrasted by Sablin and the good USSR unifiers, as well as by demsocs and even socdems like Wilson, Harrington and likely Tommy Douglas. In Footprint verse, Socialism as good guys will be a hard sell, and a shitton of socialists will have focuses to go full Serov on the Jews and other minorities. Sablin and Bukharina might only be marginally better than the tankies in the room and Sablin's route may be torn between authsoc route from OTL!TNO vs. a Nazbolish route. Libsoc might not even exist as an ideology and the closest we get to Libsoc is Malenkov Divine Mandate and maybe SBA.

What's more scary is that Speer, Matovsky and Shaf be written as good guys. And Speer and Matovsky's conflict with G4/Petlin respectively be more shades of grey than Speer and Matovsky clearly being in the wrong. I'd also imagine monarchy being immune from criticism and as a result, we might not get Taboritsky as the worst Russian unifier and they would use Diky as originally planned for that role. Also the Mikhail vs. White Army conflict would be framed in grey morality terms rather than the army being in the wrong. In fact, I could see Himmler holding his nose and use one of the democratic or commie unifiers as his pawn.

Expect Zhadanov to fake a mars landing.

There's also going to be a sane Mosleyite fash path for Britain, and Birch will start a British Holocaust along with Chesterson and go literal INGSOC.

Also all of the Pan Arabists would be natsoc if the Italian Empire collapses with 1-2 ultranats.

US politics would be more cursed and Hall might be more genuinely tyrannical maniac who is indistinguishable from Yockey in having a hate on for Jews, rather than a well-intentioned misguided idiot we get in OTL!TNO plus the added bonus of calling Henry Wallace the second greatest revolutionary in American history after Lincoln.

A leaked presidents list from way back I was aware of for some time but is no longer accurate(a lot of people on there like Reagan and Chomsky got the axe) had NPPY Larouche in the portrait files, and he might be an option here, but the sane Italian inspired option for NPPY.

Alexander Dubček (1921 - 2007)

Dubček was long-timed Slovak communist politician and was on communist government of Socialist Republic of Slovakia. He anyway begun disillusione with communism at early 1960's and eventually withdrew from politics. He joined to underground anti-government movement but was arrested in 1968. He was freed in 1972 after fall of communism and was appointed as head of Slovak provisional government. Its mission was transfer the country to democracy, make changes on economic politics and organise referendum about re-creation of Czechoslovakia. Stepanakert (Xanxendi) capital of the autonomous region of Artsakh (Karabakh) in Azerbaijan. For several years after the fall of the USSR it was an area of ethnic tensions between Armenians and Azeris. In an agreement negotiated by Malenkov, it was agreed that the region would have autonomy for its Armenian population but would remain under the control of Azerbaijan as it has been to this day. Although some Armenian groups are still seeking independence or joining Armenia, Turkey's influence in the Caucasus has prevented this and it's unlikely to happen in the future.

Charles Manson (1934 - 1978)

Manson slipped already at young age to path of crimes. He was sentenced to prison several times and by is most faamous act, assassination of president George H.W. Bush, he was spent over half of his life in prisons. On early 1970's he joined to neonazi group and Manson commited several hate crimes against Blacks, Jews and Catholics. In 1976 Manson wrote his infamous booklet "The White Manifest" where he preached how white race must be saved from inferior races and believed about race war. When George H.W. Bush was elected as president and him had black vice president Edward Brooke, according one of witness Manson got total tantrum and shoot television. He yelled: "White Man can't stand that there is n***** so close of White House! This will be beginning of Race War!".

Manson planned assassinate Bush already at inaugration day but he couldn't travel to Washington so him had wait that Bush will arrive to California. That day came at 30 March, 1977. When Bush was visiting in Los Angeles, Manson shoot four times to the president's chest killing him immediately. Manson was arrested at the place. Trial lasted many weeks and during that Manson mostly yelled and ranted to everyone and even yelled to Jury members that they will be seen as traitors if they judge him as guilt. Jury anyway declared him as guilt and so Manson was sentenced to death. Manson tried to be acquitted and even sent several letters to many notable Freedomite politicians and asked them help him out. No one didn't ever answer. Eventually Manson was executed on gas chamber on May 1978.

Manson's booklet anyway still continued spreading despite that US government and officials tried stop that. The White Manifest became soon "classic" among neonazi groups. Despite that many countries have tried restrict or even ban the booklet, it has translated to several languages and it can be download from Internet.

Hubert Humphrey was lifetime Democrat politician. He acted as mayor of Minneapolis in 1940's and 1950's. During 1950's he was one of few Democrat politicians whom McCarthy's Committee didn't call to hearing of US Senate. He managed avoid that because he wasn't very important on the party and he too was somehow critical on some president Wallace's decision and he too managed take notable distance from Communism. He anyway never left Democratic Party altough Republicans asked him join to GOP. In 1952 presidential election Humphrey was Democrat candidate and managed to take Minnesota. This was last time when Democrats managed take any state on presidential election altough occassionally it has been quiet close on some states. Hubert Humphrey was too on House of Representatives of Minnesota State Congress until 1962.

Humphrey managed change Democratic Party as American version of social democratic party and it too adopted anti-communist views. But the party didn't ever managed to rise to same promincence as it was yet on Wallace's years. Humphrey was too strong opponent of fascissm and speciality he was extremely critical towards Freedomites whom he saw being too soft with fascism and being anti-lberal and too reactionary speciality with race issues.

Speaking of video games.... I wonder what would TTL's version of Company of Heroes look like.

Companyofheroes_pcboxboxart_160w.jpg

Box art for the game Company of Heroes, an RTS game created by Relic Entertainment set during the era of World War II. Featuring two factions at launch, the Americans representing the Allies and the Wehrmacht Loyalists representing the Axis faction, the game represents a departure in the harvesting formula common in most real-time strategy games. Rather than harvesting resources, players must capture resource points in order to gain the game's resources; manpower, fuel and munitions. Featuring the Havok Physics Engine, which offers realistic explosion and physics effects for it's time, the game was released to high critical acclaim and sold well enough for the developers to afford two expansion packs. Opposing Fronts, introducing the Free German Army on the Allies and the Waffen-Elite for the Axis (based on the mishmash units that occurred when Himmler ordered the SS and Wehrmacht to merge at the end of World War II in the European Theatre) and Roman Valour, introducing the Italians and Oberkommando Visigoth (based on the German units placed in the role of invading Italy in Operation Visigoth). While Company of Heroes is often viewed as a game, it is sometimes used by educators to re-enact the famous battles of World War II.

Haim Synagogue in Tehran, iran

With 700 000 - 750 000 Jews Iran has largest Jewish community of Middle East after Israel. Iran has usually treated Jews quiet well altough there has been some worse times for them too. But when State of Israel was established in 1948, Shahdom of Iran (South Iran) had good relationships with the country. Even communist North Iran treated Jews quiet well altough there was some restrictions for them, quiet unusual for communist bloc.

Nowadays Jews are one of most important minorities of Iran. And the country has still good relationships with israel. But despite some legistature against antisemitism and Holocaust denial there is some quiet strongly antisemitic movements but they are usually linked to extremist Islam.
