Lets say the 25th President didn't go to Buffalo that night or at the very least, survived the assasination, how would history change? Would Teddy Roosevelt still be President at some point?
William McKinley certainly made a name for himself in American History. Two major events in his Presidency was rapid economic growth and the Spanish-American war.
When he was assassinated in September 1901, then Vice-President Theodore Roosevelt took over and became the first accidental president to win a term of his own, something every accidental president has done since.
His time in office was so successful that it overshadowed McKinley's, leaving his predecessor to be nearly forgotten about.
That being said, if McKinley survived his second term in office, how would he be ranked by historians and what impact would it have in American history?
