If the Union Never Happened

I have here a possible map of what might have happened had the United States failed to remain as a union right after independence. I am working on a timeline to go along with it but I still have a few details to go over. The map might change in the future though.

The map does look interesting and reminds of the one in 'The Two Georges'. Not quite sure is all borders are realistic. What does 'B.K.' mean? British Kingdom?

A very good map, but you seem to have Georgia and Carolinas mixed up.

Also New Brunswick should be Nova Scotia - that was the original name for that area.

I'm not sure about the borders out west - are they rivers, watersheds, or just squiggles? - but they aren't OTL, so that's at least one bonus point there.

You need to do some spell-checking, too. :p Cool map, though, I like the colors, and the designs.

I'm also interested to know what B.K. stands for, and also who colonized the American West in this TL? Is Louisiana still French?

Thanks for the input I will fix the errors and I promise to have a timeline to go with it some time soon.
B.K. is British Kingdom
Louisiana & Arkanses are still French.
most of the borders are rivers, though some as the Deseret borders are squiggles assuming that is a mountain range. This will be more detailed once a timeline is written out.

It's certainly not bad for a newb map, as the others said you have avoided some characteristic problems like overly convergent OTL borders.

Do bear in mind that if Louisiana is French here, France must have got it back at some point from Spain (it was given to Spain after the Seven Years' War and was only briefly French again before Napoleon sold it to the USA in OTL).

For a second it looked like New England had taken a big chunk of upstate New York, but then I realized that it was in fact New York that had taken Connecticut and Lake Champlain... I'd imagine "New England" is politically dominated by Massachusetts.

It is a fairly interesting map, if you do have a timeline I'd like to see it.

A good first draft. I'm not so sure though that Pennsylvania would expand as you propose. Virginia and Massachusetts claimed that land.

Yunkon??? Did you perhaps mean Yukon?

Manitoba that doesn't seem to include anything could give it that name...

Hudson is a "Dominion"??? with a total population of what, a couple of 10s of thousands?

Excellent map:cool:. Like everyone else said, it's nice to see non convergent borders once in a while.

Seeing that all the parts of OTL Canada that could be self-governing are called Kingdoms, I would assume that this timeline's definition of "Dominion" is different in this timeline.

Yunkon does need correcting though:D

Cool map. I especially like the fact that you have nations of indigenous North American peoples on your map. Now, show us the flags of your new nations!
