If the Confederacy won the American Civil War, what do you think would have happened

I have mixed feelings. On one hand I think Lincoln was definitely pro-working man. On the other hand, take the example I can remember well enough to hunt down the full quote:

http://www.classic-literature.co.uk...ings-of-abraham-lincoln-05/ebook-page-144.asp
"Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration."

Taken out of context, it sounds Socialist. In context...I don't think so. Leaning in that direction, yes. But more as a result of being a friend of the common man in the democratic sense than anything broader.

I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but I think there are a couple others which are essentially the same thing.

But as said, this is in context. Taking it out of context is an easy way to justify Marxist Lincoln without anything so hard as actual research.

You pretty much nailed my thoughts on the matter. Lincoln is a "socialist" to those who think any efforts to ensure that the little guy doesn't get stomped on are "socialist".

Also on the Marfan's Syndrome--almost certainly false. One of the things the attendant doctors were amazed by when treating the dying Lincoln was his amazing musculture and overall health. Indeed, they felt that those were why he lived as long as he did after taking a fatal wound.

Yeah. You might be able to go further with this, I think, if he lives longer.

But it would be in the nature of what he believed but considering extra measures necessary rather than Lincoln the Radical. Lincoln was a radical only to those who resented change.
