If Tecumseh survives and Britain wins the War of 1812, how long does it take for them to part ways?

Assume the British win the War of 1812 with a POD in 1813, leaving Tecumseh alive, and after a stronger British victory, a Shawnee buffer state is created propped up by the British.

In such a scenario, how long would Tecumseh and the British remain allies? Particularly if the British feel the need to station troops, build forts, or allow white fur traders to enter the region, it seems like there are a number of grievances that the greater Shawnee Confederacy would have with the British.

Anything between a few years and a few decades. Depending on how British-American relations develop. If they remain very tense, the Shawnee will be needed to keep the US busy. If they relax and even become friendly, the natives are screwed.

Permanently, likely. While Tecumseh and his people will be royally screwed under the British likely, it still beats their fate under the US. So the Natives will stick with the Brits.

Technically forever. Look at what happened in Upper Canada and move that to Tecumseh's lands. If there's enough organization and they aren't decimated by disease and starvation they might be able to secure a deal that gets them more lands tan they'd have gotten from the USA and maybe the right to vote in the provincial legislature.

what are the boundaries of this buffer state? Is the US cut off from the LA territory that it purchased just a few years ago? Or can they go south of it to the Pacific?

The absolute most would be the Old Northwest beyond the Grenville Line, but even that is hugely improbable.
