If Rome had fallen on September of 1943

A continuation of this thread

Would this have been possible? Had Operation Giant or Giant II or a variation taken place on September of 1943, following the surrender of Italy?

Or, could an earlier invasion of Anzio, which was close to capturing Rome in January of 1944 but was bogged down due to Alexander's overcautioness, have taken place four months earlier?

Anzio

Alexander was not to blame for the beachead fiasco at anzio it was the American Commander who wanted to secure the beachhead before pushing out thus allowing the Germans to reinforce the area

well, for one, the OTL liberation of Rome on 5 June 1944 woul;dn't have been overshadowed by the greater news of the D-Day invasion...

Well, I'm still curious...

Rome Falls in September of 1943, the allies probably spend the next months securing everything south of Italy while reinforcing whatever they got around Rome for when Kesserling comes...what next? do they reach the Po by June of 1944 or something?

due to Alexander's overcautioness
Lucas and Clark can both be blamed for the near disaster at Anzio.

In fact, Clarks refusal to follow orders from Alexander and allowed significant elements of the German army to escape and reinforce the Gothic Line. Rather he took Rome instead, which was of significantly lesser value.

Well, yes, Mark Clark is an idiot, from besides from defending Alexander's Brittishness and good name, does anybody got any idea of how to get this going?
