If not Speer, who?

If Albert Speer had left the German armaments ministry in 1943 or 44 (say to go back to architecture - just humour me) who might have taken over from him?

Who was his deputy? Who was Todt's deputy?

Probably Sauckel, who IIRC had favour in anti-Speer circles

If not, perhaps Funk

Historically Karl Saur served as Speer's deputy in the Ministry of Armaments and in the Organisation Todt. At the end of 1944, he increasingly turned away from Speer, whose star was falling, and was in cohorts with Bormann and Goebbels, who had by then turned away from his initial plan of aligning
himself with Himmler and Speer against Bormann.

Another potential candidate would be SS-Obergruppenführer Dr. Hans Kammler, a high-ranking official in the SS Economics and Administrative Central Office, with whom Speer collaborated in establishing underground
factories ran by slave labour and who later headed the programme responsible for building the V2 missiles.

Oh, maybe I meant Saur instead of Sauckel. I was going by memory

Can't believe I forgot Kammler, though that would be handing over the ENTIRE thing to the SS
