If Jaffa cakes .......

If Jaffa cakes get invented earlier, giving everyone too much of the munchies to be bothering to fight World War 1 :p

If one side runs out they're just as likely to attack the other side to get more. Either that or they'll go to the port town of Jaffa and sack it in hope finding an infinite source.

Not quite accurate. If my wife's cookies (chocolate chip and walnut, yum) were available then, well they'd be too busy stuffing themselves to fight. The jaffa cakes are a good idea though. :D

Surly we would develp weapons of mass buscuits .... where whole packets could be shot at the enemy, who would then eat them, and become to fat to cross no-mans land.

What if Nelson had dropped the Jaffa Cake he'd been eating, just before he was sniped, and bent down to pick it up. :D

What if the French had filled the Ardennes with boxes of Jaffa Cakes in early May 1940. :p

As has been pointed out on the thread, if any country ran low on Jaffa cake supplies, it could have a disastrous effect, even more so then an event like the shooting of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Diplomatic tensions over the buildup of the German fleet could lead to a British blockade of Jaffa cake carrying shups to Germany. This would lead the Germans to invade France to seize their rich supplies, which of course, would set off war in Europe. However, the one hope is that a Jaffa cake deprived Germany may lose its will to fight earlier then OTL, which may lead to an allied victory in 1916/17, depending on how much of Frances Jaffa supplies that Germany could capture with the initial offensive.

...what?

They are a sort of cake/biscuity things you can get here in the UK. While I usually prefer other kind of sweet things, I have to admit that they are pretty damned nice.

They're very definitely cakes: there's been a decisive legal case on the issue!

I should have some sent. I'll pay postage if anyone wants to send me some (if it's allowed, which I'm sure it is). Then I'll be able to accurately respond to the OP.

I love Teal'c's Jaffa Cakes

But what about the surviving Bourbons? And will there still be a Garibaldi-style revolution?

Note for our American readers: Bourbons and garibaldis are other types of biscuit...err cookie I believe they are called in your tongue;)
