If colonists never succeed in America what do you think the world would be like today?

So if instead of the technology native Americans had when colonists arrived Native Americans had the same technology as Europe and both American continents were divided into countries with solid borders and as a result Europeans never gained a foothold what do think the world would be like today? What would be the borders? What would politics be like? What alternate wars would happen? Tell me what you think.

Even with the same tech, give it a couple generations and American societies would disintegrate from all the diseases Europe brought to them.

North-south trade is just so much harder than East-West that it's unlikely for them to have comparable proliferation of assorted nasty diseases and resistance thereof.

Okay I want to see a scenario where the Europeans never gain a foothold and discuss it so to make that work the diseases don’t effect the native Americans

I’m not being super serious here I’m just saying if somehow this happens what would the world be like.

Those matters still have to be addressed. For example, how are the natives surviving the old world diseases? Its entirely different scenarios if they’re already immune (still, how?) or if there’s no old world diseases to kill them (again, how?), or if the new world diseases are just as deadly to the Europeans as the old world diseases were to the Americans.

Meanwhile, there is such a huge technological (not just material technology, ether, though that is the biggie) gap that you need to address how that is overcome.

There’s too many moving parts to address the question without having specifics. That said, if I had to guess, without any real information to go off, you’d likely see something similar to the colonial model used in Africa and Asia. Europeans would still be painting the map with their colors, it would just be native populations instead of settlers populating their overseas empires.

Africa would still have been circumnavigated in this scenario. China would be traded with by Europeans, but the steam engine would never be invented. Thus the opium wars would never have occurred. Consequently, China would not have been surpassed by the west. Lastly, a lot less people would speak English.

I’ll have to get back to you on the how this happened. I kind of got too excited about the discussion that I didn’t think of how the scenario happened before I posted this. When I’ve thought of it I’ll put it here.

There’s an active thread on how the Americas could keep up with Eurasia. I’d recommend checking it out.
