ice age continues

Very large swaths of Europe, Asia, and North America go unexplored and unsettled due to the ice/cold. At least, that's what I would imagine. Anyone have an ice age map, that can point to which bodies of water are frozen, how far glaciation reaches, etc.?

I made this map a while back, based on 100 m sea-level drop and using some models for glaciation extent I found. Should give an idea of what the world would look like.

FYI - the dark blue areas are land-locked water bodies that are below sea-level.

As to what civilizations would be around? No way to say as they would be too different. My gues is the equivalent to South China Sea and Celebes Sea would be this world's Mediterranean

Looking at Dutchies map, I would imagine the areas with the greatest amount of civilization potentaial would be the South-East Africa, Indonesia/Australia and Eastern South America. All have good grasslands.

India probably has good potential too. The Himalayas had a good sized ice cap spreading out from it. So the river valleys in southern India should be rich in wildlife. It was a grassland good for cattle raising.

I figure modern humans move out from Africa around the coastal areas of the Indian Ocean towards Indonesia/Australia.

In the other direction Humans move west through the grasslands of Africa. Eventually some one discovers South America while sailing. Cattle are brought over from Africa.

Map below shows areas of vegetation for the last major ice age. Plus where I think has the potentials for civilizations. Indonesia/Australia would be the most active I think.

There have been both 120,000 & 240,000 years ice periods, the last OTL was a 120.
?So WI it had been a 240?
Whe would be some where around 132,000 into it, With another 108.000 years to go.

I Don't see this changing our escape from Africa 100,000 years ago.
Or our wiping our Neanderthal, and others cousins.

Whe would still have crossed the Bering [avenues thru ice along Pacific NW coast] into the enlarged Antilles, and the larger Isthmus.
And down Indonesia land bridges into Australia.

Whe would still have spent 50,000~70,000 years following the herds across the Russian/European Tundra

BUT-- 10~12,000 years ago whe would not have had a changing climate across North Africa and Mesopotamia, or the Yangtze or Yellow Rivers.

I think the Indus, Ganges, and Mekong rivers are going to be the Cradles of Civilization ITTL

which civilization? the neolithic potters were having a field day at the time.

(or the Ice Age wherein you lot murdered all the Neandertals?)

We did not murder the Neanderthals! We simply rendered them metabolically inert.
