I have an Idea for a TL...

Okay, consider Adolph Ochs. Let's say he's born three seconds later.
Much later, in 1920, when he hears wind of the article that wants to ridicule Goddard, he refuses and instead decides to praise Goddard.
The US. military takes notice of rockets and decides to contact Goddard and build military rockets. This leads to a more militarly advanced USA, leading to imperialism, and the US forms a third side in WWII.
Look at the Map Thread V and my maps if you want to know what happens, but is this plausible/interesting?

I don't see how you could form a 3rd side in WWII surely they'd go more like the Draka in WW1: loosely link themselves with Britain and the Soviets whilst in actuality doing their own thing.

That's what I mean. Thier Allies, but doing theier own thing. Know what, look at this map. Sometime in the middle of WWII.

Yup this definately looks good.

Why are Russia in the Northwest of China?

Also you say this is in the middle of WW2 but the war looks nearly over with the Red Army approaching Poland and the Americans approaching Berlin.

Actually, only France, England and USA are aginst Germany, and the Soviet Union puppeted East Poland back in 1939.
And the war's oretty much trench warfare for now due to no real advamtages.

Okay man chill.

You can't annex Mexico after the POD devoid of a long destructive civil war. Asia and Africa are the best options.

There's Obergon. Have the US make harsh demands and have him refuse. Then butterfly away the death of Villa and Zapata and have some Civil War break out.
Someone good with Mexican history, help.

Why do they need Mexico?

Just be like the Draka and take everything they "liberate"
