HWI - Sweden Joins the Central Powers?

In OTL, Russia almost attacked Sweden out of fear they would join the Central Powers. If they had, this would have certainly driven Sweden into the Central Powers side.

How would this new player affect the war? Would their entry see the participation of any other Scandinavian nation? What Territory might they lose? [Or assuming, somehow, the CP won] What Territory might they gain?

Well, if Memel and company sail before the recall, Shell Stockholm, kill the king or the crown prince, that could probably do it.

Biggest change would be on East Front when Russia should send troops to Finnish Front. Might be that Italy remain neutral and United States is pretty unwillingful join to the war. This would help much Central Powers.

Probably not.

In Entente victory scenario Sweden hardly lost anything but there might be some reparations. But it depends how war is going. In CP victory scenario Sweden probably get Åland and Finland gains independence and gets Bernadotte king.

First, Admiral Essen's stunt is not likely to lead to war. It was unauthorized and unapproved If he had gone ahead with it, the Russian government would have disavowed the action, offered Sweden compensation and probably shot Admiral Essen

That said, there were those in Sweden who wanted war with Russia. The King was one. Finland and the Baltics would be prime targets

There would be little change to the war in the East. The Russians would probably fall into revolution like they do OTL. The Germans might be able to move some forces to the West, not enough to matter though

As to the fate of Sweden: She's likely to keep what she gained even if the Central Powers lose. Her enemy would be Russia and no member of the Entente is going to war with Sweden to restore lands to Communist Russia. Now when WWII rolls around, Stalin is not going lightly
