Hussite Moravia/Bohemia

a thread like this could start with WI the hussites won the hussite wars?
but the thing is they did
they were decisively wictorious
many times ower
the ones that basically won the war were the Taborites, using revolutionary tactics like armoured wagons and mass use of firearms

finally the civil war and repeated crusades wore the warious hussite faction down and after the taborites were defeated a peace was signed that basically brought things back to the way they were within a few generations time

but Moravia and Bohemia were free hussite states for at least a decade
granted the hussites themselves were olnly united when the German or Danish crusaders would invade and turned on each other as soon as outside treath were gone, but the Taborites ruled Bohemia practically on their own and defeated the Ultraquists again and again during the civill war

would a hussite Czech nation be trully possible in the longrun?
could a state such as taborite Bohemia survive till say... 19th century?
their politics and social order was definitley revolutionary, to the point of being compared with comunism, at the same time they were fanatically religious, but again open to tehnological inovation

what pods would be needed to maintain a longlasting Taborite Bohemia at least or at best a hussite Czech

how could it develop, what consequences could this have on europe?

well the Danish king went on a crusade anyway.. i dont think they actually got there do
it was a political moment in wich the Germans were buisy with each other so the king of Denmark decided to do the christian thing and go crusading
i dont know if they actually got to fight the hussites as such

Never, ever heard or read of it - will have to look it up.

Just looked up Erik of Pommerania - used his first 20 years to settle the Slesvig question and the rest of his reign to keep the Kalmar Union together and then got kicked out by nobility.
Don't think he had time to go on Crusade anywhere - but I'll look it up anyway.

Hussite? Yes. Taborite? Not so sure. See below.

Bohemia was effectively Utraquist until the 30 Years' War. I have given some thought to a timeline where Luther flees to Bohemia. He becomes a leader among the Utraquist. Eventually Bohemia secures Peace of Augsburg-like tolerance within the Empire.

their politics and social order was definitley revolutionary, to the point of being compared with comunism, at the same time they were fanatically religious, but again open to tehnological inovation.

If they achieve 'independence', they will have to neglect much of their revolutionary policies. If they don't, they will fall behind economically. Without war to drive technological innovation, I doubt their policies would do much to encourage (and possibly discourage) further innovations.

Can't find anything on this crusade issue - must be an invention.
Where did you find it?

Are you thinking of Christian IV during the 30 Years' War?

Hunt down Europa Universalis II and download the AGCEEP mod.

In that scenario, I managed to survive as the Hussites by steering a relatively moderate course down the middle, reconciling - to an extent - with the church, allying with the Venetians, and mounting a two-pronged attack on Hungary (Bohemia attacking from the North, and Venice from the South).

As a kind of potential analogue, have a look at the Compact Revolutionary Zone (CRZ) in India. I reckon that could be a good model for Hussite success.
