Louis II of Hungary and Mary of Burgundy (or Austria or Castile) were married for 9 years (admittedly though only co-habiting for 5), and when Louis died at Mohacs in mysterious circumstances, ending Hungarian independence (it passed to his sister Anne, later Holy Roman Empress).
Louis had a bastard son, Janos Wass/Lanthos by Angelitha Wass (who was never recognized by Louis, but was by Anne's husband, Ferdinand, and their son, Maximilian since he was paid a pension by them.).
What if he and Mary had one or two children (preferably one a son)? I assume Hungarian independence of the Hapsburgs might be continued for as long as the son lives? But what else?
