The Fart That Changed The World:
Cleopatra knew what she had to do. The old Greek world was vanishing, kingdoms and petty princedoms falling apart, leaving only her beloved Egypt intact. Of course, Egypt, too would fall. She didn't understand the Romans, how they could conquer all, but even the Romans were still men. And men had their weaknesses.
Julius Caesar was, perhaps, somewhat past his prime but still highly attractive even by the more astute Greeks. She could easily see herself seducing the man to her cause. Her bodyguard carried her, rolled in her choice rug, with silent stealth. Perhaps Caesar was aware of their presence, or perhaps not, but whatever the case, he bent over to pick up his sword...
...and the loudness, the stench of his fart completely killed any physical attraction the Egyptian Queen could muster. She escaped from the rug, resolute on doing her duty to Egypt, but the look of disgust manifested upon her face, and the Roman was not receptive to her charms.
Cleopatra, it seemed, would not be able to charm Caesar so easily.
