Human Trek

Suppose Gene Roddenberry decided screw it on the aliens and just made them human, in ancient time some ancient race needed slaves they died out we were free, or something like that I know that's star gates idea but it works.

You still have Klingons, Vulcans, they're just human.

So is this for a film/game or IRL? Biological PODs tend to be more for the ASB category, as surprising as that may sound.

Zep', I don't think Zelda's suggesting Gene Roddenberry is God (admitedly us Trekkers can get that way a bit sometimes);) so it is for a TV series.

Yeah I was thinking if he invented the genre differently would it impact tv or movies differently maybe the seti program even that would have butterflies even if it's only minor.

This has nothing to say that it's not reality, that the show it itself is different. See the show had impacts on the scifi genre and even in some ways design of technology.

So it may be more like the new Syfy series The Expanse?
Well, Rodenberry did make Genesis II at least three times. Those were no alien shows. I imagine alott like that.

Mostly no difference.

It could discourage some of the aliens in other sci fi in follow on years.

Maybe Starwars has far fewer or no aliens?

Stuff like that.

Or maybe it causes a backlash of more aliens in films and TV shows, in an effort to make them "more realistic" or just to distinguish them from Star Trek?

I see that as an equally likely outcome.

The Star Trek galaxy is full of "perfect humanoids", so this does not make that much of a difference, really.
