Hulk Stayed: An Alternate WWF and WCW history

Backstory
When the Nature Boy Ric Flair made his debut to the WWF, the wrestling world was shocked. The man who was the face of the WWF's chief competition WCW had signed with Vince McMahon following Jim Herd's idea of Flair cutting his hair and becoming Spartacus making Natich leave the company and join up with McMahon.

Ric Flair would step into a WWF ring at the 1991 Survivor Series while partnering with The Mountie, Ted DiBiase and The Warlord defeating the team of Bret Hart, The British Bulldog, Roddy Piper and Virgil but that's not all he do that night.

Flair would cost Hulk Hogan the WWF Championship which signaled to fans that the two biggest stars in the wrestling world would collide and so the WWF would tease and tease until the 1992 Royal Rumble, when the WWF Championship was on the line due to it being vacated by WWF President Jack Tunney after This Tuesday In Texas, where Ric Flair won the belt.

And so WWF fans were finally told Hogan and Flair would fight at Wrestlemania VIII following a "press conference" where Jack Tunney announced Hulk Hogan was the number 1 contender to Ric Flair's WWF title.

"El Matador" Tito Santana took on Shawn Michaels (who had just recently turned heel against former tag partner Marty Jannety) who was accompanied by Sensational Sherri (who also sang his theme song) and the two fought in a good match but in the end (which Sherri botched) HBK pinned Santana with Sherri "holding" his legs down akin to Heenan holding down the Warrior's legs at Mania V.
Winner: Shawn Michaels

Following the match Mean Gene is seen standing in front of the crowd and LOD's music hits as he says "There they come!" Hawk and Animal had been taken off tv following the Royal Rumble, they're now accompanied by Paul Ellering who talks about how's he going to steer the ship before we cut to this graphic announcing the next match.

The two teams make their way to the ring with the heels being announced by Family Feud host Ray Combs (basically just to advertise the upcoming WBF vs. WWF episode of the feud) who cracked jokes about the heel team until they had enough and went after him but were cut off by the faces. In the end the faces were the victors with Slaughter making Repo Man tap out to the cobra clutch.
Winner: Sgt. Slaughter. Virgil, Big Bossman, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan via submission

We cut backstage where Mean Gene is standing next to the IC champion Roddy Piper and challenger Bret "The Hitman" Hart.

Bret Hart talks about wanting his IC Title back from Roddy, while he takes some pot shots at the Hitman in his usual Roddy Piper fashion. Playing off their last interview together where Roddy teased decking Hart, only to reply “I coulda had ya”, this time as they begin to walk away it’s Bret who grabs Piper and repeats the line “I coulda had ya”. Piper quickly holds his fist up to reveal he had a belt wrapped around it and responds to Bret “No you couldn’t of”. Classic Roddy. Bret walks off with Piper closing the segment.

We cut to the entrance way where Bret is making his entrance then followed by the champ Roddy Piper. The two go back and forth in an excellent match, towards the end the ref takes a bump and is out cold. Roddy going back to his old tricks slides out the ring and grabs the ring bell then slides back in and is about to hit Bret with it but looks at the fans who start to boo him making him rethink it and throws the bell away regaining the crowd's love and picks Bret up and locks him into a sleeper but Bret quickly kicks his feet off the top turnbuckle, sending both men backwards to the mat and Hart lands on top to get the pin, and regains the IC championship.
Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion: Bret Hart

After the match Roddy embraces with Bret and puts the belt on Bret's waist as the crowd cheers. We get a look at newly signed from WCW Lex Luger who couldn't wrestle yet so Vince put him in the WBF (but Luger would spend the year recovering from an auto wreck) before we cut to our next match.

Tatanka remains undefeated in the WWF gaining yet another victory over the Model in a short match. Following this we yet again cut to Mean Gene who interviews The Natural Disasters (who had felt betrayed by their manager Jimmy Hart and thought they should have the belts instead of Money Inc.) then we see the Tag Champs with Sean Monney before we get back to the arena.

The match is very poor, with Typhoon screwing up a spot twice and with the champs walking out giving the match to the Disasters.
Winners: The Natural Disasters (Earthquake and Typhoon) via countout

(note: This match didn't happen in the otl do to time being cut)
The Bulldog enters to a tremendous pop from the fans before the berserker walks out and is booed out of the building. Bulldog dominates the match with press slams and clotheslines, but Berserker does get some shots here and there but it's not enough to defeat the Bulldog.
Winner: The British Bulldog

We cut to Jake Roberts cutting a promo on his upcoming match with Savage inside a steel cage and he continues to play mind games with him and Elizabeth. We cut back to the entrance way where Jake makes his way to the ring until Savage jumps him from behind! Savage and Roberts brawl a bit on the outside of the ring with Roberts getting the upperhand thanks to a low blow. Savage is throw into the ring and Roberts closes the door before the ref rings the bell and the match officially starts. Roberts has the upper hand and just toys with Savage, he mocks him and laughs. Savage however gets some momentum later on with Jake attempts to use his deadly DDT and Savage breaks free and Roberts hits the canvas before being attacked by Savage again. Savage sends him flying into all sides of the cage and bodyslams him before climbing the top rope and hitting the elbow drop and pinning him for the three count.
Winner: Macho Man Randy Savage

After Savage celebrates his victory we cut to Mean Gene interviewing Sid Justice who is talking about his match with The Undertaker and how the Deadman will pay for his acts against him and his friends. (Hogan and Savage) We cut to Undertaker and Paul Bearer who talk about the match as well before we cut back to the ring.
maxresdefault.jpg

The two big men take it to each other with Taker seemingly unbeatable thanks to the urn, Sid takes notice and goes after Bearer which gives Taker time to breathe. Sid manages to get the urn but Taker has already slid out of the ring and he kicks Sid in the gut making him drop the urn and throws him back into the ring and preforms "old school" followed by a tombstone piledriver for the victory.
Winner: The Undertaker (2-0)

The time is upon us as the theme to 2001: A Space Odyssey plays and Flair walks out with Mr. Perfect by his side and with the WWF Title around his waist as the crowd boos but they explode when Real American plays. "This place has gone bananas!" Yells Gorilla Monsoon as Hogan makes his way down and smiles and shakes his head as he sees and hears 62,167 hulkamanics cheering him. Hogan makes his way in and tears his shirt while Flair watches and plots, the bell rings and the two lockup. Hogan easily overpowers Flair which gets the crowd to cheer, Flair tries it again and this time he pokes Hogan in the eye which gets the ref in his face. Hogan grabs Flair and decks him and decks him again, and again, but when he irishwipes him Flair climbs out of the ring making Hogan even madder. Hogan slides out and grabs Flair again but is attacked by Perfect and is double teamed by both men, eventually Flair slides back in to break up the ref's count before he climbs out again and throws Hogan into the steers. He woos in his face before throwing him back into the ring and drops a knee on him before attempting to pin him, but Hogan kicks out at 1 which upsets Flair and he grabs Hogan by the head and slams him into the turnbuckle a couple of times before Hogan reverses it and slams Flair's head. Flair collapses and Hogan gets some time to breathe. Flair crawls to the opposite ring post and Hogan goes to him but receives a boot in the face and he is thrown into the turnbuckle which Flair proceeds to chop him repeatedly until the ref threatens to dq Flair, Hogan holds his chest before Flair grabs him and chops him again and he falls down. Flair covers him but only gets two, Flair argues with the ref who tells him it's two before Flair grabs Hogan's legs and drags him to the center of the ring and locks in the figure four leglock on him. Hogan yells in pain as Flair laughs and applies more pressure on his legs causing him to drop to the canvas but pop back up when the ref goes to count the pin, Hogan tries desperately to turn the submission over but Flair has it in too tight and Hogan once again lays down on the mat and is being counted for the pin. 1! 2! Suddenly he shoots backup and starts hulking up while a frightened Flair tries to make him tap but Hogan breaks free and continues to hulk up while Flair starts hitting his back only to it doing no damage and resulting in a finger pointing to Flair's face before Hogan starts punching him before he irishwipes him across the ring before Flair's face meets Hogan's boot. Flair falls down and with blood on his face while Hogan runs to the ropes before dropping the leg on Flair for the three count and to reclaim his WWF Championship for a record fifth time.
Winner and NEW WWF Champion: Hulk Hogan
