How would Stevenson or Truman have reacted to the Suez crisis?

If Adlai Stevenson or Harry Truman was President in 1956, how would he have reacted to the Suez Crisis? Demand the withdrawal of Britain, France, and Israel like Eisenhower? Support the invading powers? Do nothing? Demand that they withdraw but don't follow up with any threats of sanctions?

Off the top of my head I could @ the least
imagine Truman doing something that IOTL
Ike did- give Eden one hell of a tongue-
lashing.

Stevenson I think would have tried to get the whole matter referred to the UN- & while
we’re @ it, try to use it the settle the whole
Mid-East question(though I rather doubt that
would have worked).
