How would a Unified Colonial Government effect the outcome of the ARW?

There have been several TL's suggesting that after the British victory in the French and Indian War that there is a possibility that the entirety of the British Colonies in North America could be unified under a Colonial Administration.
Say this is possible, does this in any way butterfly away the American Revolution? Can there be any significant changes to alter the flow of events in anyway - even if events go as OTL? Or, would a unified colonial government rebel against the British crown and thus could be more successful in the revolution?

Since one of th reasons the war lasted as long a s it did was colonial disunity, this is a bad news bear for Britain.

But if Britain had managed to delegate the task of paying for the colonies' defence to this body, instead of trying to raise taxes for the purpose directly, then the "No taxation without representation" argument would have been weaker in the first place...

You need to be a lot more specific on how this government functions. It could go either way depending on the details.

Are the members of this colonial government elected by the colonists or are they simply appointed by the crown? Do they have legislative authority or are they simply tasked with carrying out orders from London?

This is pretty important. You can have either a Dominion of New England writ large or Rule Brittania forever, depending on the details.

this colonial government would have a hard slog of it. The colonials rather liked not having any real authority breathing down their necks. Plus, any central government would have a hard time policing the far flung N. American possessions, everything from Quebec to Georgia, and isolated towns all over the western frontier (as it was at that time). If the government really tried to tighten down on things like taxes and smuggling, it would give the colonials a place/people to rally against other than London... for a while.

So perhaps, instead of a war for independence, a war for federalization where the American colonies are put under different authorities? If this is done successfully, the colonists are temporarily satisfied and too exhausted to rebel against their new local governors. The American colony of Britain becomes the American colonies of Britain, keeping London's control over North America.
