I'm in the process of planning a TL, and one of the crucial parts of it is a successful Japanese invasion of India. However, I'm finding it difficult to figure out how to achieve this in the timeframe needed (i'm envisioning Japanese forces occupying most of India by around 1944) and the most difficult bit about this is finding a way for Japan to manage the difficult cross over from Burma into India, given the difficult terrain and logistical difficulties.
Given a greater number of troops (not decided on numbers yet, this is all very rudimentary, assume they were able to transfer some from China and Manchuria), air superiority and fewer British troops in India, how can Japan manage the crossing?
