How might the French control of Mexico be affected by a larger Mexican Cession?

If the United States had also taken the Mexican states of Baja California, Sonora, Sinaloa, Durango, Chihuahua, The former Rio Grande states and the Yucatan states, how might this affect French intervention in Mexico?

Would France still establish the second Mexican empire, or would they not even bother? If they did, would the smaller area of control needed allow for the empire to survive? How would Mexico and France be affected?

Juarez hid out in the far north, so I could realistically see the French capturing him. If Juarez is captured, there's no resistance leader.

But if the US has the far north the French just may not get involved. The French invaded Mexico because they wanted Sonoran Silver.

So Basically if the French do still get involved, they will be more successful?
