How long could Estado Novo last with no or reduced colonial war

Say after Salazar suffered the brain hemorrhage, Estado Novo goes for a limited decolonization granting independence to Guinea-Bissau, Northern Mozambique, and Eastern Angola under Friendly governments.

Given these regions where much of rebellions occurred, how much would this reduce the strain on Portuguese forces.

It can last undeterminedely, but not on it's original form. it can reform into a guided democracy, like modern Russia if Caetano reforms succeds, so there are many parties, the name "Estado Novo" is kept but the People's National Union is garanteed 51% of the chairs of the parliament.

As Gukpard has indicated an earlier demise of Salazar and implementation of economic, democratic and social reforms as done by Caetano will go along way to allowing Estado novo to survive. if you are interested in such as scenario look at my "lusophone world" TL see signature.

How would the integration of the Africans go in this TL
If we are talking about a iOTL Estado Novo, by the 1960s they are fighting a difficult battle. African territory needs to be treated equally that means Europeans and Africans need to be treated the same. That would entail that there be more legislature seats in Africa since the population is higher than in Portugal. This then means that controlling Africa becomes problematic with the small European population in Africa. Remember each colony had separate currency, you needed a passport to travel between them and Metropolitan Portugal. To truly have a decent chance of integrating them into a whole country we need to start earlier 50s a good but 30 and 40s are better. This is the approach I have taken in my Lusophone TL. A 1920-1930 divergence that I felt had the best chance of uniting all of the Portuguese possessions and at same time keeping the country under the Estado Novo control. That requires different leaders though.
