If the Reich defeated the USSR and reached the A-A Line, enacting Generalplan Ost and their other colonization plans, how many men would they need to keep in Eastern Europe as an occupation force both in the short term and long term?

How difficult would the occupation be in terms of controlling over 100 million people and dealing with partisans?

How many troops would they able to keep in Western Europe once the East is taken into account?

There's no real way that Barbarossa could succeed. How does Stalin die and why does it throw the USSR into chaos?
He could die in an accident which leads to a large power vacuum and infighting within the Soviet government/military. How the Nazis won isn't that important to the OP.

When Stalin had his supposed breakdown shortly after Barbarossa began the Politburo showed a great deal of unity. Why would they turn on each other when Stalin accidentally trips on his own garden shears?

It is if you're asking people how many troops the Nazis would need in their occupation force.

I voted for at least 2 Million troops. At it's max the Germans had around 3 Million men in the east OTL in July 1943 according to wikipedia. That 3 million probably includes cooks, admin clerks, truck drivers, airplane mechanics etc. All those jobs still need to be filled. So let's say you have 2 million actual fighting men and 1 million supporting them. As things like GeneralplanOst and the final solution go forward you can reduce a million men (you don't need Soldiers gaurding depopulated areas) however 2 million men is going to be the minimum. Things to take into -consideration:
-How bad is the fighting in the Urals?
-How long do Partisans in the rear areas like Poland hold out?

It's not guaranteed, but it is conceivable Red, so I'd just roll with it.
