How isolationist would the USA stay?

At what point would the USA enter World War Two of its own accord? Assuming that none of the Axis powers commit acts of war against the USA, where/when does the non-interventionist policy end? The US gave massive amounts of aid to Britain before Pearl Harbor, and even clashed with the Germans in the Atlantic, but would it ever get to the point where the USA openly enters the war if Pearl Harbor doesn't happen? What about Japan's actions in the east? If Japan invaded the DEI and British colonies, would the USA act? There's got to be some point when the USA realizes it doesn't want the world to be dominanted by the Axis, but that that will happen unless it actively paticipates in the war. (or maybe it won't, maybe the Allies can win if the USA sticks to subsidizing their war effort)

Basically what is the point where the government and people of the USA say "screw casus belli, it's within our geopolitical interests to shoot at the Axis."
