I'm currently watching a series on YouTube about the Mongol conquests, and it has just covered the expedition of Batu Khan into Poland and Hungary. The video stated that the Mongols planned to conquer all the way to the Atlantic, but that Batu had to travel back east after the death of Ogedei Khan to elect a new Khan.
I was wanting to know what the maximum extent of the Mongol conquests could've been had everything gone right for them. Could they have defeated the Christendom? What about any further conquests in the Middle East and East Asia?
